Sanitation & Recycling

The City of Lafayette contracts with an outside waste management company, Renville Sibley Sanitation, for solid waste collection and recycling. Everyone within the city limits is required to have garbage collection and all residential customers within the city limits are required to have recycling collection.

Most trash and debris, when properly bundled and/or contained properly, can be disposed of at curbside with your regular garbage service days. If assistance is needed or you have questions for the city, please do not hesitate to contact us. 

The garbage and recycling are billed through the city on your monthly utility bill. To report a missed collection or to upgrade your service selection contact the clerk's office 507-228-8241. 

There will be two city-wide curb-side clean ups this year. See the schedule for specific dates. 

For questions specific to rental of dumpsters, or special collection of an oversized item, please call the Renville Sibley Sanitation directly.
