Payment Options
The City of Lafayette offers a variety of convenient payment options for our residents. Simply choose the option that best suits your needs.
Utility Services Payments:
Payments are always due on the 25th of the month, regardless if it falls on a weekend or a holiday. There are multiple ways to pay whether the office is open or not.
Late Fees:
Payments are due on the 25th of the month. As long as they are received prior to the start of the next business day, they are considered on-time. Late fees are posted to any account with an unpaid balance after any on-time payments are received and posted to the accounts. If a current payment plan is in place, no late fees will occur to those accounts as long as they are in current standing.
UBPay: There is a $3 per $100 charge for this online service. Sign up at www.ub-pay.com, register using the municipal code of LafayetteMN054
Online Payments - Other: You can pay an ambulance, fire call or administrative citation online.
Go to https://secure.go2gov.net/pay/public/lafayettech/welcome.faces You will choose the correct category and this payment program will charge you $3 per $100 paid.
Payment By Mail
If paying by check or money order through the mail, please send all payments with your payment coupon. To avoid late fees, please mail your payment at least five-seven business days before the due date specified on your bill.
Automatic Bank Draft
The worry-free way to pay your bill. With this service, the amount of your monthly bill is automatically deducted from your bank account on or around the 20th each month and credited to your utility account. There is no set-up fee or charge associated with this method of payment. To set up Automated Bank Draft, simply download and fill out the ACH Recurring Debit Form (if available) located below and drop it off or mail it to our office, along with a voided check. Stop in the office for an ACH form.
Payment Drop-off Location
You may pay your bill in person at our office at 791 Main Avenue. We accept cash, check, or money orders. There is a payment slot to use during hours or after hours and weekends.
Payment Through Financial Institution Online Bill Pay
Many financial institutions such as major banks offer their customers the ability to pay their bills via an online bill payment service (through your bank's website). Normally, these services debit the customer's checking or savings account to pay the bill. Depending on the financial institution, they may or may not charge a fee for the service. Payments may take up to seven business days to post to the customer's account. Please consult with your bank for more information.
