- At a Special COVID-19 Emergency meeting held on March 18, 2020, the Lafayette City Council passed Resolution 2020-06 - COVID-19 Related Authorizations. All city buildings will be closed to the public until the Emergency Declarations and any extensions have expired. During this time the Council meetings may be held electronically via conference calling. If this is the case, iinformation will be posted for the public to listen in on meetings. Presently the Council will meet at the Community Center at 540 7th Street to allow for proper social distancing. The next Council meeting is Monday, March 08, 2021 at 7:30pm. Masks are required.
- Payment Information: Utility payments are due on the 25th of each month - no matter if it's a weekend or holiday. A late fee of $15 will be applied to all accounts at the start of the next business day. If your payment is in the drop box when the clerk arrives to work, those payments will be posted prior to late fees being applied. Avoid a late fee - drop your payment off on the 25th or sooner. NEW!! Set up an ACH payment! Fill out the application to have your utility payment drawn directly from your checking or savings account each month! (Click HERE for application) Or to pay online: www.ub-pay.com, register using the municipal code of LafayetteMN054 - There is a $3 fee per $100 of your bill to use the online bill pay...but if it saves you a late fee, you are money ahead!
- Garbage and Recycling - Garbage collection is each Thursday, recycling is every other week. See the schedule for recycle days and Holiday schedule. Also, this Blog link was sent by our garbage hauler landfills. https://www.rubiconglobal.com/blog-recycling-contamination/
- 2021 pet licenses All dogs and cats need to be licensed annually with the city. The cost is $2 from Dec 1 to Jan 31, and then will return to $8 on February 1. Fill out the application and drop it off at the city office with your pet's vaccination record. 2021 applications are available HERE.
